Project Team Leader(s): Ron Duckworth
Project Cost: Confidential
Time Period of Project Work: 2001
Client: Confidential Industrial Client
Project Description
DCI personnel and Solis Environmental assisted a confidential industrial client in the design and development of a program to beneficially apply the solids from the pre-treatment of a wastewater stream resulting from the processing of pecans. Duties included site evaluation and sampling, waste characterization, preparation of a detailed regulatory package, and development of a management plan to reuse the solids in an environmentally sustainable manner.
The project was completed under extreme time constraints due to the loss of the previous disposal method. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) quickly granted regulatory approval without comment. The client was able to avoid costly alternative disposal of the solids and implement the beneficial reuse program within a short period of time.
